I have been seeing this with other animes too. Like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Blue Gender. I’m never sure which to buy
The main difference between many series that have such large price differences is that one is a “special editions” release. These special editions could be limited edition fancy containers (tins, or boxes to hold individual DVD volumes), T-shirts, rings / pendants, soundtracks (if you’re lucky), books, etc.
